Website 10 - Minimalist Baker - Lab 1

Image
https://minimalistbaker.com/   I liked that the minimalist baker website had special search headers like Gluten-free and Vegan that takes you to a list of recipes that they had under that specification, as these are common categories that a lot of people might want to look into it adds to the ease with which users can interact with and navigate their website to find the information or in this case recipes that they might want.  Another element of the minimalist baker website was it's use of photos for each of the recipes shown so that users can easily recognise types of food or recipes they might like more or consider making. Having photos on websites like thi s that show recipes or products makes it easier for users or consumers to find what they are looking for much easier, improving their overall experience with the website; Thus I would wish to use these sorts of elements in some of my websites in the future where features like these might be more applicable like store pa...

Website 9 - 2048 - Lab 1

Image
https://play2048.co/ o   What features/elements did you like and why?  In the 2048 game website I noticed and liked that a lot of the icons were small in size and came in colours the blended in with the background as to not take away from the focus on the game itself. The website also has compacted UI icons that have descriptive text that appears when hovering over buttons on the screen, these simplistic a small designs are able to add to the overall screen with the game as it's focus.  I believe keeping a consistent visual look and UI design is something all good websites should try to achieve as it makes the website much more readable to the user than if everything was different colours and sizes. Whenever I make future websites keeping consistent UI is definitely an element that I would be wanting to focus on to add to the users ease of readability on the website.

Website 8 - 100,00 Stars - Lab 1

Image
https://stars.chromeexperiments.com/ o   What features/elements did you like and why?  One thing that stood out to me on the 100,000 stars website was it's tour feature, the tour feature when clicked on would start to play a large animation/video that takes you through the websites model and explains different concepts surrounding space. For example in the tour it visually shows the length of a light year by zooming out from the solar system to give the viewer a better idea of the size.  I like the tour feature because it makes it much easier to show and explain ideas and methods to do something, is it something I would consider making, potentially I don't know how the creators of this website went about making the interactive model seen on the website but I'd imagine that there are more efficient ways to go about making an interactive scene like this by using other types of software considering how choppy the animation felt.   Another decent...

Website 7 - TheOatmeal - Lab 1

Image
https://theoatmeal.com/ On the Oatmeal homepage is the Latest and Popular lists that list out comics based on release dates and the amount of views a given comic receives, I like these lists/features because it makes it easier for users to find/search for what they might be looking for.  Therefore depending on the websites I make in the future I would definitely be looking to integrate these sorts of features into it to create an easier user interactions and experiences.

Website 6 - Littlealchemy2 - Lab 1

Image
https://littlealchemy2.com/ o   What features/elements did you like and why?  Although the little alchemy 2 website is a type of game website, it's fundamentals are quite flawless, with a simplistic menu and website design it makes user interaction easy. Something I like about the little alchemy website's settings menu is that it's clear and concise, allowing for users to easily navigate through options within the menu, positively adding to the user's experience with the website's GUI. Having a clear and concise menu is something I would always want to incorporate within future websites for having better user interactions.  Other than menu's, it was nice to see an animation be played as an example of want to do for the user, so that users know if they should do something. It doesn't matter too much with this websites example but I can see that I might want to use short animations in future webpages to show if the user should do a spec...

Unique Website 5 - Magma - Lab 1

Image
https://thisismagma.com/ My favourite feature of the Magma website was it's homepage animation that swapped between a  solid and see through 3D model of a large building; I mainly like this feature because of how cool it looks, realistically from how fast the animation is done this isn't the best at conveying the specifics of a building, however this isn't what it is used for here. In this case the animation is mostly used to reinforce the title's meaning, getting across their message of redefining their industry. Although this type of feature is definitely hooks the users of this website I don't see myself using this kind of feature often or maybe even at all because of the effort and time making an animation like this would most take, but it really all depends on the goal a website is trying to achieve. Although probably not the best example of a menu, at the top right of the website page is a menu that stays with you as you scroll up or down the page, that when c...

Website 4 - EnergyPark - Lab 1

Image
https://energy-park.co.uk/  I liked that when you hover over a word in the navigation header of the homepage a box pops down from the top of the page to give the user an overview of what is on that webpage, so that navigating and finding certain options on the website becomes easier for users. This is definitely a feature I would use in my future webpages as easy navigation on any website is crucial for making the user have an easier time interacting with information that your website is about. Another small feature I liked was when you hover of lists of items or really just any link an animation would be shown to pretty much tell you that this piece of text is linked to someplace else and that this is the object you are hovering over. This type of feature can be nice to have when the borders of certain objects might be more ambiguous or less noticeable.  Having an animation play when hovering over objects is common place in today's website, this is because whatever it ...
